What is a AU file?
This type of file represents a simple audio file that was primarily common on NeXT systems and early Web pages. The AU file format was, at first, used by Sun or some similar Unix-based machine, but now, it can be opened with other audio programs as well. Although AU files are quite small and have poor sound quality, they store information in three sections. The first one is called header, with a maximum of 24 bytes.
